Adventure race took place in Vardzia on 6-7 June, 2009. The project was financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and was organized by Georgian Tourism Association (GTA) in close cooperation with “Elkana” Rural Tourism project.
16 groups (6 persons in each group) composed of Georgian, Swiss, American, German and Polish participants took part in the competition consisting of 3 stages:
- Running 6,5 km
- Mountain biking 11,5 km
- Rafting 1,5 km
The best result between 16 groups was achieved by the local team from Aspindza region.
GTA awarded a challenge cup to winners as well as camps and vouchers were prized to the first three groups by the department of Tourism and Resorts of Georgia (DoTR). Elkana’s gifts and were given to women participants.
